With all the media attention about so-called straight men in right wing and/or religious circles soliciting sex from other men and then denying they are gay, this dude really deserves top marks for excuses.

A Vatican official suspended after being caught on hidden camera making advances to a young man says he is not gay and was only pretending to be gay as part of his work.

"It's all false; it was a trap. I was a victim of my own attempts to contribute to cleaning up the church with my psychoanalyst work," La Repubblica quoted Stenico as saying.

Stenico said he had met with the young man and pretended to talk about homosexuality "to better understand this mysterious and faraway world which, by the fault of a few people — among them some priests — is doing so much harm to the church," La Repubblica quoted him as saying.

I've been doing research myself, trying to fathom the depths of the right wing mind and it turns out there just might be a real difference after all.

In a simple experiment reported today in the journal Nature Neuroscience, scientists at New York University and UCLA show that political orientation is related to differences in how the brain processes information.

Previous psychological studies have found that conservatives tend to be more structured and persistent in their judgments whereas liberals are more open to new experiences. The latest study found those traits are not confined to political situations but also influence everyday decisions.

It seems that some, not all, right wingers are so persistent in their convictions that they will simply lie in the face of overwhelming fact just to maintain their ideas, truth is not as important to them as the need to maintain one's beliefs.

So when a right wing politician or religious leader denies that he's gay no matter how many times he's been caught with another man, it's because he really doesn’t believe that cock in his mouth makes him look gay.
