New United Nations president calls homosexuality 'unnacceptable'

This really frosts my apricots, and I could care less if the guy is Muslim or whatever flavour of religious assholeism he chooses to follow.

One question concerned the UN resolution which calls for the universal criminalisation of homosexuality.

In reply, Treki said: "That matter is very sensitive, very touchy. As a Muslim, I am not in favour of it . . . it is not accepted by the majority of countries. My opinion is not in favour of this matter at all. I think it's not really acceptable by our religion, our tradition.

“It is not acceptable in the majority of the world. And there are some countries that allow that, thinking it is a kind of democracy . . . I think it is not,” he added.

Your religion is not my fucking tradition sweetheart, and how dare you assume that whatever version of mythology you may happen to follow should be the basis of how I live my life. I don't care if you’re Christian or Muslim or whatever, don't ever assume that any slant on spiritual fairy tales you may follow apply to me.

It is your own so-called God sanctioned ideas of right and wrong that have fueled wars, strife and endless human suffering for millennia by deliberately condemning whomever you may conveniently choose.

You may think it's a tradition, but the reality is it is nothing more than the cheapest form of self-empowerment that could be imagined. It is so ingrained in religious culture that the very idea of condemning your own brothers and sisters who desire nothing more than to share this world peacefully is considered a virtue.
